Like DHP said. Being an ex-gmc mechanic, I thought having a boat with a 5.7 would be no problem. Then I got jacked by a "tech", then I bought factory manuals, and found a shop that was honest(old omc techs). Paid them the money to get it back up to speed, but now, after research, I can talk to them, about what parts I want to order, etc. And they used to tell me, when I had the wrong theory ,that I was wrong.. Find a good independent shop, through word of mouth. And read the manuals. I don't need techs(except in here, thanks guys) to work on my boat, anymore.

Damn right...I've just about HAD IT with stupid know nothing women taking over the job of a owner/mechanic. I got nothing against women, but really wish they would stay home with the babies...(look out...here comes Hillary now)

It really didn't get that cold here....
Lots of people leave their boat in all year long.....
Now if you are in Issaquah or Bothell, or Kent, it did......
If that invoice doesn't have the word 'Winterization' on it, I doubt you will have any recourse.......
It does suck that the person who took your order was probably working in 7-11 last week......
I do agree that they are trying to weasel out of an event where they are at least partially at fault......
I feel your pain........​

One last tidbit about the incompetence among us. On those boring rainy days here in the Sound, I cruise the Goodwill for old albums with good covers, maybe even good vinyl, Hot Wheels, who knows. Couple years ago checking out, the girl asked me..
"Did you find everything OK?"...
Looked her straight in the eye and said..
"No, wheres the fresh milk"...??
Where her head stopped spinning like the girl in the "Exorcist", I said "its a JUNK store"

Something similiar happened to me as I have posted here. I took my boat into have it winterized among other things. I even called the front office to let them know freezing weather was coming and to make sure to have those plugs out. The front office said--"we have been doing this a long time....." Sure enough it froze and the block cracked and they kept the boat way into February waiting on a part. I found out in the Spring and wasted a month of boating. I give them credit that they did make a good repair on the block without much fuss. I just check that block before boating and it ticks me off to think I have to do that.
After reading this forum I do it myself. I can't do no worse job than they did lol
Take them to court because even a weld job will be expensive because the manifold etc etc has to be taken off

You want to check with the Better Business Bureau to see if others have had similar complaints, they may be more willing to correct the issue if you let them know that you may become the next in what could be a long list of complaints.
