I agree , Ive been on the lake for the last 3 seasons as a passenger with friends and family looking for that perfect used boat. But 3 years later I knew what I wanted enough to go with a new bowrider .

And yes the interest rates are more tempting !

I've owned both new and used, and would endorse the 'buy used' advice. That is most particularly due to the fact that if you have the $$ for a new, say 18' Bayliner, that same sum will buy you a much nicer 3-5 year old boat - one with accessories like a tower, paddles, PFDs, bumpers, skies, & etc. Most importantly, you will likely find a used boat with the power you actually want (as opposed to the power you think you can live with).
