Advice on swim platform

Hey guys, I have come across a used swim platform on the wonder that is Craigslist listed for $100. I have not gone to see it in person as it is quite a haul from where I live. I am wondering if it would be useable with my boat, and aside from holding it up next to my boat, what I would look at to determine such. The seller has sent me a few pics-it does look dirty but he says it is in excellent condition-I think his opinion and my opinion of perfect condition are different!
He says it does come with the hardware to attach it-though he is definitely missing one of the braces in his picture here! It does come with his ladder but I would prefer to use my own.
He measured the platform as 6ft x 21in. He states that he took it off an '86 searay
I have a 2006 Bayliner 195.

Your transom isn't flat. It has contours, so...

If you find a suitable position for the platform, you have to determine where the brackets meet the transom and whether they will sit properly. So, from the mounting point of the platform, how far down would the screws be fasted to the transom?

The seller should be able to give you some quick measurements.

Did he say Excellent or Perfect? Structurally intact without damage, and 'dirty' are completely different. However, that is irrelevant. This is going to look like you bolted a 20 yr. old swim platfom onto your 7 year old boat. Might as well be a pickup truck bed made of pressure treated lumber.

Shrew I think you just settled that for me! I have been thinking that and sure comes to fruition when I read that someone else thought it too, haha.

I know they are expensive, but buy one of the NICE aftermarket platforms that are designed for your boat. (expect to spend $1200 or so) It is money well spent, especially for a boat that is only a couple years old.

How difficult are the custom platforms to put on yourself? Anyone ever done it?

custom platforms are easy to install.... if you have clear access to mounting points in your transom.

if i remember correctly.....the 05 bliners had room.....i dont think they changed very much in 06.

have you looked here at iboats for a swim grid? or there are even factory ones that you can get from a dealer...

That thing is gonna look huge off of the back of your 19'er! I hope his measurements are correct, but I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being longer than that. The contour of your transmom is gonna be interesting as far as fitment is concerned.
