Advice on trimming out this door

I had to install a new basement door. The old door was for a 2”x4” opening; the new door (I had it) is for a 2”x6” opening. I made it flush on the outside because I might finish the basement one far and figure I could frame and Sheetrock flush to the door. But for now I want to trim this out. It’s probably a good 3” out. Any advice on how to trim it? Not coming up with any really good idea. Thanks.

Cut your trim out at an angle to taper it back to the wall till you finish up the rest.

I once had the same problem, but it was a finished room so I had to make it look decent.
I framed around it and drywalled it to meet the new door.
One side met with a corner, so you can't tell. I made a step in the drywall (with a corner bead) on the other side so I wouldn't have to reframe and drywall the whole length of the wall.

Since your's is in the basement and has a block wall, I would screw wood to the existing house framing to build it out.
You can finish the added wood with dry wall if you want.
