I have a 1999 Four Wins 214 I have been working on for some time and latest project has been stripping, painting and restoration of the transom shield and components. Ran into a bad steering are during disassembly and a local boat mechanic had one complete with tilt cylinders for a decent price. Problem is I can't seem to drive the large stainless pin through, it's really seized up. I had to persuade old one a bit, but nothing like this one, can't get it to budge. Soaked it in PB6, didn't seem to help. I attached a picture of the assembly also. I did remove the two lower grounding strap bolts as well as the retaining clips. Anybody have any experience or advice I sure would appreciate it.
