Advise on a 1996 Johnson

Guy's<br /><br />I'm looking at purchasing a used boat that has a 1996 Johnson V6 225 HP with 204 hours on it. <br /><br />Can anyone tell me what the compression should be on this motor. <br /><br />If anyone has anything to say about this motor please post. Is 204 hours allot of run time?<br /><br />What the life expectancy of a properly maintained Johnson motor.<br /><br />Thanks<br />Stoked Not

204 hours for a 7 year old motor is very low.<br /><br />A well maintained motor of that period can last 20 - 30 - 40 years. Read some of the posts from folks who have running motors from the 60s.<br /><br />It should be interesting to see how many of the motors produced today with all of the sensors and built in computers are running 20 - 30 years from now. I hope my 1987s are still running then.
