It is so nice to go out out and enjoy my boat again. The Clutchdog seemed to have solved the problem. Thanks to the great advive from all who partisipate. Wonderful forum.:)

The clutch dog and gears were changed from a 2 dog to a 3 dog clutch and gear set, you had to buy the complete set.
if yours works with just the new clutch, great.

I'm new here and I have the same issue with the popping out with the load. My question is do I have to pull the lower unit to replace the cluch dog.

Thanks

Me too! The 25's (split bottom gear case) are no problem. But I have never torn down my 35's.The One piece type that come out the end. Looks like a tough job to me! Mine jumps out in forward under a load, but that was after putting a water pump in it & shift rod not adjusted correctly. Brass connector / coupling threads were stripped.
If it or you keep on trying to run it w/o adjusting linkage, you're going to ruin the dogs. I just put a trap strap on mine cause there was some much slpo in the upper shift lever. Of course, with remote steer, you have no reverse. Plus, the anti-start in gear device can hamper it from going all the way (either way). I just by passed mine. Hooked a spring on it to keep it out of the way. Now, let it begin!
