Re: AeroCraft York 1960ish Transom, Stringers, Deck
WOG will get back to you, but, the 1/2" holes he was asking about are thru holes in a few areas to allow the PB you'll bed the transom into, to key the plywood transom. This makes the whole thing more like 1 thick lamination of fiberglass transom skin, PB, CSM wrapped plywood transom & subsequent tabbing glass & resin out onto the hull.
The thru holes also allow any air that might get trapped behind the wood, creating voids in the PB, a way to get out as you bed the transom ply.
Any squeeze out from the edges or holes can be used to start the fillets for tabbing.
Raising the plywood transom off the 2X4 'table' w/ 4" screws is a great idea, and allows you to flip the plywood & resin/CSM the other side while the 1st is still tacking off....
Nice fitment on the plywood. Do a dry run or 3 with WOG's transom clamps so that you're able to install the PB & transom ply quickly. Have a couple spare pre-measured resin, hardener & PB mix set up & ready to be quickly poured together & mixed when you start. Extra hands are very helpful too, if only as a mixer.
