Wire harness issues

I have a 1970 Stamas express hard top(irrelevant) with a 1995 5.8 Volvo Penta FLPHUR 4V, fresh water cooled, Prestolite ignition, with a DP-S/ DP C1 drive. They, Penta, only used the ford for 2 years, if 3 ok. Does any one have a schematic of the engine
harness/es plug/s?
Not the one on every site that gives part numbers. I need to know what, for example, pin # 6 is supposed to be/ go to. My set up has a round 10 pinish(only if you knew) plug mounted to the engine then the wires go to a short section, 16 inches, of adapter. There are rectangular plugs on both ends. I do not want to break connections. Old. If I do not have to.

Sorry if seems winded...

I need to know what wires/ colors go where. Alternator, oil pressure sensors(yes 2), temperature sensors(2 too), starter, choke, grounds, etc. Previous owner has a lot of splices and such. It is the stock key and ignition switch though.

I think I will need to re run, splice, crimp, heat shrink, etc, wires.

I will take any plug schema and do the math my self.

I cant seem to find the info any place. I think previous owner has done some quick fixes and I would like to try to get the harness back to or close as close to stock as possible

If any one has a run down of the information needed I am very thankful.
If I left any info out that would speed the help process out please let me know.

Memory??? Blue is the thermostat,Brown is the oil.Yellow/red stripe is start.purple is power/ignition.Red hot/positive.Black /ground.Choke/purple??
I think!! The color code is standard on most boats.Older boats might be different.

It's possible (probably)I'm wrong.I'm sure that someone will correct me.
Hope that helps some.I can't get to my Volvo books till later. If no one helps then I'll be back.

Here is a link to the OEM service manuals for the HU model engines, you can just download the ones you need.

The manual above does not have the wiring diagram for the complete engine, but here is a file that has a year newer diagram. Should be the same, they didn't change the Fords much.

Thank you Don S and jerry. Information was helpful. Job has been done and the wires are not so foggy any more.
