Hi, I was looking on ebay and found a powerhead rebuild kit for a Johnson v4 crossflow at a reasonable price, the kit contained GLM pistons, these pistons are cast and specs as follows.

*Fully machined hypereutectic
*Hard anodizing coating on top
*resistant to temp upto 1560 deg F
*Harness HV280-400
*T-6 heat-treated.

Anyone used or had any experience with these pistons?

I have heard of several people having good success with the GLM parts.

I don't use them, but I can't say I've ever heard anything bad.

Re: After Market Pistons v4 crossflow.

hello never tried GLM myself but I have used a truck load of sireea with no problems. in 96-97 OMC moved the topring locating pin. seems they had some troubles. dont know if it ever got moved back. outboard pistons are machined to fit factory bore sizes and standard oversizes from factory. no need to send the pistons and the block off. I do check the ring end gaps. they key is a good machinist and careful cleaning when done. all intake and exhaust covers must be removed for proper cleaning. the sierra pistons come with circlips, rings and the wristpin. they also sell bearing kits. test all your recirc valves while your in it.

Mar-Fab sells them...if they were junk, kurt wouldn't let'em out the door...
Of course he sells Wiseco too (My choice), and in my mind, most likely the best.
