I've had very good results with cdi parts, a bit pricey though:confused: but good quality

just curious why your changing the cdi. what symptoms led you to want to replace it. I am having problems with mid range power and vibrations in my 2003 merc 90. i think it might have to do with not getting good spark while under load.

Im changing to cdi because my switchbox no longer works its not giving any power to my coil and is actually feeding the mounting plate 4 volts lol. Try doing a basic tune up on your motor might be well worth it, im guessing it has to do with carbs.

Re: After market switch box

thanks for getting back to me trihull. i have already done complete tune up, all fluids, spark plugs, filters as well as adding an additional inline fuel filter, took apart and cleaned all carbs ports and jets, checked for spun hub and did compression and spark test and all seems fine there. replaced primer bulb and exterior fuel lines. i'll try an isolated fuel tank again today, but have already done this in the early stages of diagnosing so i don't really suspect that will result in any answers. I want to check additional ignition systems but am not sure how to test without the harnesses and tester. any insight or direction would be great.

Re: After market switch box

I bought a CDI stator for my 150 merc, ran it for a season then bought a genuine merc stator and put it on.
I would have to say night and day difference with the merc stator being better as the CDI stator didnt give me hardly any holeshot.
You may find that the CDI part works fine for you but i wont buy anything else from them.
