I'd bet half the people here cannot say with confidence how electricity flows.

Does it flow from the positive terminal to the negative?? Does it flow from the negative to the positive??? Is it both????? or do you not know?......
Think conventional.... then think electron.

It's irrelevant to this discussion, as both are simply theories, and both work. As long as there's a complete loop, it doesn't matter which way the electrons are flowing.

Anyway, did the OP ever get this figured out?

Update: I took all the ignition apart and cleaned everything got great spark got gas.
So the bad news.
It still wouldn't start. So i did a compression test with my new screw in style compression tester. #1,2,4,6,5,7 around 90#'s 3,8 50#'s. So then I start thinking maybe the timing chain had jumped and SO I pulled the water pump off to get to the timing cover and .... BLACK OIL WATER.
Does this mean the block is cracked? I am basiclly pulling the engine in a week and may take my tax rebate and buy a new 350 from rapido... I bought this one used what a mistake.....

The block's not necessarily cracked. Why did you initially pull the heads?

If you're getting poor compression multiple, non adjacent, cylinders, I'm going to say you've either got warped heads, or a bad head-gasket install.

Did you check your mating surfaces with a straight edge, before reinstalling the heads?

Were the mating surfaces good and clean, and dry?

Did your head gaskets call for sealer?

Did everything get torqued properly (sequence and torque)?

Did your base timing (timing chain) check out?

I did everything according my manual ... I did not replace the even cylinder side head gasket and it still wont get over 90 #'s

You didn't say if your base timing checked out or not. If everything's good there, see what kind of compression you get after you put a squirt of oil through the park plug hole. If your compression comes up with a squirt of oil in the cyl, your rings are probably shot.

You said you didn't pull the head on the "even cylinder side" yet you said that both cyl 3 and 8 had <50psi. Cyls 3 and 8 are on different sides of the engine. So I'm not understanding what you're saying there.

What prompted you to pull the head in the first place?

I pulled the heads because I had a spark plug that melted due to some detonation and advanced timing. So i pulled it to make sure the piston heads were ok. and everything I did put some oil in the cylimder and still no more the 90 #'s anywhere... So at this point I am going to pull it and r and r I think.... becasue i dont see how the oil got in the coolant passages and water pumo
