Hey everyone,
I am timing a 1990 force 120 outboard. I watched the video in the sticky, but just want to make sure since this is the first time I am doing this I am doing it right.
Disconnect and remove all spark plugs
ground all spark plug cables
jumper wire on the interlock device
connect a timing gun to cable number 1
(***Disconnect the throttle control) and move timing tower to WOT
Have someone turn the key to start to crank over as normal and hold down (***so its just the starter spinning the fly wheel but at WOT that will give me the correct measurement???)
observe and make adjustments
*****Based off this since my boat is in the water there is no need to take off the propeller and all that I am assuming.
Please let me know if I am missing anything, I looked at a lot of forums and videos, just want to make sure these are the steps to do it.
