I would like to repaint the cowling on my 1998 Ocean Runner but have been stymied by the difficulty getting replacement factory decal$. The existing decals are in decent shape and I would imagine they could be copied/duplicated by a competent shop. Has anyone had any experience getting replacements made or know of a source. I have searched the internet but it seems that factory replacements are N/A. Thanks.

Thanks bullet, but those decals do not match mine. The 1998 cowls were completely different.

I found an Ebay store that sold decals that are an exact match to my 1978 Johnson. I have not got around to prepping and painting the cowl yet, but when I do, I have a nice set of decals on hand. Just do a search on Ebay for "Johnson Decals". You will get a few NASCAR hits (Jimmy Johnson), but most of the hits will be for Johnson outboard decals.

go to your local sign shop or graphics store, these are the guys that can wrap cars signs coke machines etc... If they are any good they can hook you up. I took a digital picture of my decals to them and they matched it perfectly and for less than buying the factory decals.

IMHO the best bargain is Nana's decals on Ebay, I bought two sets one for a 1972 9 1/2 Johnson and another set for my 1978 70 outboard...

Nice stuff, and very reasonably priced (talking well under $50.00 per engine)...
