Aftermarket VRO

I just bought the new boat, so the wife says I can't buy a new 4 cycle kicker for fishing on Lake Michigan. I have to use my old stand-by 1976 Evenrude 9.9 hp to push around my 21 foot Starcraft Islander at trolling speeds. The engine worked great trolling my 18 foor Mirocraft center console. They even drank the same gas.<br /><br />I have an I/O on the new boat. If I had a newer 2cycle or a 4 stroke, it wouldn't be a problem. I would like to find a way to use the gas from the main tank for the 9.9. Short of buying a new motor, is there any way I can get an after market VRO for my 76 Evenrude? <br /><br />I used the search and found lot's of dislike for VRO, but we use them in the Coast Guard and they work fine. <br /><br />Thanks for any information you can give.

Hey CRS....<br /><br />The only oiling system I know of would be he acu-mix system tank. VRO's were installed on 40hp's and up. The tank system had a oil reservoir built in and oiled the gas before it got to the engine. I think if it were me, I'd carry a separate tank with 50:1 mix for the 9.9. It would get ya through until she says go get a 4-stroke kicker.
