Age of engine

I recently acquired a Johnson 15 Hp seahorse outboard., model number 10BA79B, Serial number B022234. Anybody any idea what age it is ? Thanks.

Any chance the BA in the middle arent actually BA?

A 10R79B, 10RL79B, 10EL79B and 10SEL79B are all 1979 9.9hp Johnson/Evinrude outboards. No mention of a 10BA79B that I can see.

According to maxrules, 10BA79 is a 1979 Johnson 9.9 and NOT a 15HP.
