Appointing and placing conservatives on the bench is a biggie. If he gets that done, we can say goodbye to "politcal correct" rulings like Rowe/v/Wade, banning the pledge of alegience and prayer in school, abortion, ect.

get his approval rating up from 35% to a more decent level by actually accomplishing something.

Re: agenda:: bush's 3 more years

Like any wartime president, the man has been through a personal hell that most of us never have to deal with... I hope he gets the war over, I hope Iraq becomes a stable country... but I'm afraid these are goals that can't be acheived in 3 years.

I agree with the Justices, getting them seated is very important.

The upcoming farm bill will make or break our farmers over the next year, and it will set a precident for the next one.

The rebuilding of damaged areas (New Orleans) is important, but I don't know if it is exclusively a federal project with taxpayer dollars.

Continuing to support the 2nd amendment rights of Americans by ensuring that gun maker lawsuits are stopped is important.

Repair of his reputation is not a goal... he doesn't have Regan's charisma and Clinton's popularity (not that I understand his popularity or agreed with it... he just doesn't have it). I have agreed with the Administration many times when others on this forum have not, but he (like us) is not perfect and has made errors in judgement, SO I guess that I'm writing his goal is to not make any additional mistakes.

I don't know if he will start a viable policy dealing with border issues and illegal immigration, that can't be fixed in 3 years and he probably doesn't have the political capital to do anything about it... then again I'm not sure who does, too many of we "The People" can't even agree on what to do.

If I were him, I would hold on hoping that Israel isn't wiped from the face of the earth while I was president, I am afraid that tensions and problems in that area of the world are only beginning... They haven't seen anything yet.

Just a few of my thoughts, eager to read others.

35% approval rating means very little... it only means that OF THE PEOPLE POLLED (whoever they may be) 35% of the pollers (is that a word) gave him a thumbs up. So..... was it an internet poll and all of the kids in a pro-liberal poly-sci class logged on and casted disapproval votes? I dunno? It could have been that way.

But 35%, I don't think so.

I think reform of SS is high on the list, along with conservatizing the federal courts.

I do think he will drop the privatization scheme in favor of fixing the SS system. Somebody might tell him about 401K and other tax free investment programs that anyone can invest in.

I don't think he cares a whole lot about his "approval ratings", orchestrated by the media.

I do think he wants Roe v Wade overturned and mandatory Christian prayer in public schools.

Re: agenda:: bush's 3 more years

35% means quite a bit, because if his approval rating was 82%, then the polls would be the greatest thing since hole-less swiss cheese. That poll would have represented truely wise people. C'mon now....

As for his agenda, it is clear that he wants only to overturn his way to the holy land. It is too bad, because by only focusing his efforts on one area of our country, he is only further feeding the division. That is not what a good president does. Yeah, it is difficult to please all the people all the time, but he isn't even trying. He is simply saying "screw the rest of you as long as I have my way". While it is admirable that he stick by his guns, he really needs to think about what can be done to better unify this country.

The dems have the opportunity to take over in 08, but they are too busy humping the football. They are just spinning around in little circles screaming "get them off me" instead of coming up with real plans that would entice people to have confidence in them. Kinda sad....

I keep hearing "unify the people" and simialar statements. But the fact of the matter is, our government was thoughtfuly organized around the idea of opposing parties for a reason. A good reason.

I believe that the ballance has swung to the left for a long time in this country. It's time to swing to the right now.
My 2cents.

I agree kalian, but you gotta admit, things are a bit more divided than usual now-a-days. Glad you liked that AZF, it's a shame that it's the truth...

Maybe you could tell me how a 401K could have benefited me as a small employer. For years, as the owner of a business, I was hogtied in contributing to a 401k plan due to federal regulations. I was limited to contributing to a 401k by the amount that my two employees contributed to theirs. If my employees either chose or were unable to contribute for themselves, I could not could not contribute anything to mine.

At the same time, business owner friends making the same amount as me but without employees, were able to sock away over 23% of their income tax free. Talk about a socialist tax policy.
