Re: Agree or Disagree

He seems awfully whiney for a military guy....
Maybe he should write a letter to his congressional representative, but he/she is probably a Democrat.....:)

No, just write the letter so he can feel better by getting it off his chest....
I'm sure the letter will wind up in the wastebasket ;)

Re: Agree or Disagree

I admit my gag reflex is too strong, and I couldn't make it through to the end of that drivel.

I really find it amazing with all the stuff going on--the debacle of the Iraq war, The Sccoter Libby trial, The appointment of an oil company lobbyist to edit the scientist re Climate change, and who knows what all else, you are so disconnected to reality to believe such garbage.

I really think you all believe that any dissent is bad, and you'd prefer a totalitarian form of government.

I do, however, take some comfort in the notion that any of the 18 potential candidates, on either side, will not be as bad as the past six years. Now if we can just make it through the next two.

At this point, that is still in doubt.

Well, Laddies, we have yet to have a "perfect" President, and each of them have had flaws.

The current one just sets the bar at an unattainable level for the rest.

Even the original GW had flaws....
But he was smart enough to publicly acknowledge it....
At least he was worthy.....
Please don't confuse him withGHWB or 'Dummy' .....+o(

Re: Agree or Disagree

Yeah, he made lots o' jobs in defense & military......
This is a tried & true formula for Rehubs....
Get us into a war & borrow the money to create jobs......
When the economy tanks they will blame the Democrat that inherits it.....
I'd love to see Hillary smite the Saracens & keep the economy afloat at the same time.......d:)

I seem to be missing a comment on the cut and run that Reagan committed in Lebanon after the marine barracks were attacked.
Can you please explain to me why that little fact was left out by this "militairy person"?

Re: Agree or Disagree

Following the collapse of the government of President Amin Gemayel and intensified fighting between the Lebanese army and Moslem militiamen in Beirut, President Reagan announced Feb. 7 that the U.S. Marine contingent in Beirut would be withdrawn to ships offshore. At the same time, Reagan authorized military commanders to launch air strikes and artillery bombardments against Syrian-controlled positions that fired on Beirut. On Feb. 8, American warships mounted a nine-hour artillery barrage against pro-Syrian militia positions, in what was described as the largest U.S. naval action since the Vietnam War. Previously, Reagan had vigorously resisted congressional pressure to withdraw the Marines, so his announcement took Washington by surprise.Given little warning of Reagan's decision, Britain and Italy announced their own plans to withdraw peacekeeping troops from embattled Lebanon.
