I have a 3 Gal. pot air compressor.
I pulled the dip stick and there is oil on the bottom of it.
But the tank is very low.
What kind of oil do I put in it and how much in the tank?
Thanks,

Re: Air Compressor Question

gonna sound like a smart arse answer but you need air compressor oil. you can find it at home depot, lowes, sears, etc.
Fill it until it reaches the mark on the dipstick. or, if you have a sight window its usually to the middle of the window.

Re: Air Compressor Question

Should have said this yesterday, but if you can't find "air compressor oil" you can usually substitute it with straight 30W non detergent oil.

You should also get in the habit of changing it once in a while to, as you'll get a little water in the oil over time with use.

Re: Air Compressor Question

You should also look at cleaning the air element/cleaner as well some are foam, some are paper which will need to be replaced.

Check the owner's manual for oil spec and fill instructions.
