I am at work and don't have my service manual with me so I can't remember exactly what the "Starting point" should be for the adjustment screw on my 3 carbs on my 1995 50HP evinrude. I think it said to start at about 1 3/4 turns out but after I rebuilt the carbs and link/sinked them I had 2 3/4 turns out on each carb..My middle cylinder was fouling plugs and the other 2 were fouling plugs a lot earlier than I think they should have. I screwed them in to bottom and turned them out to just a tad less than 2 1/2 turns out and the motor doesn't smoke a "LOT" like it was and the shaking at idle and low speed disapeared?? If any of ya'll have this motor or work on motors, what starting point would you start with on the air/fuel jet..Thanks Hank

Don't want to hijack your thread, but I have the same question for a 1994 Evinrude 120 hp (4cyl) outboard. Anybody know the starting turns for the carb mixture screw?

Re: Air/fuel screw setting on carbs

thanks for the link Rick. I did come across that thread when I did my initial search but I'm not sure which one of those paragraphs apply to my carbs. It didn't look like mine were mentioned in there?? I only have on adjustment screw on the outer edge of the carbs on the starboard side of the motor. I just got home from work so I will take a look in the service manual. If you have an idea which instructions I need to follow post up please. Thanks again for the advice..Hank
