Re: Airplane on a treadmill

Obviously your boat will float higher if the anchor is stored on a piece of styrofoam. The gravitational attraction between your anchor and the earth is directly related to the distance of your anchor from the center of the earth. If you raise your anchor higher it weighs less (if you raise it far enough - into space - it won't weigh anything at all).

Hmmm...the girl in the seat ..with double D anchors..jumps on the bow...and it RISES....(the boat damnit:eek::D)

Cut that out!!!! Do you know how hard it is to get the Diet Coke that just sprayed out of your nose (due to Bernouli's Principal), off of your handy, dandy, 24" wide flat panel monitor?

What if you hovered a R/C helicopter in a bus with all the seat taken out and the windows closed with the bus traveling at 30 mph for example and the bus braked hard. what would happen to the helicopter???????

IT would continue forward until either wind resistance, or the windshield stopped it's forward motion.

What if you had a semi truck over loaded with double it's suggested/legal weight . Now lets say the truck was full of canaries. If you kept half of them flying all the time would the trucks weight be light enough?

If you understand what I mean.

If they fly by reason of Bernouli's, the truck is lighter. If they fly by reason of downwash, it is heavier. If you let them all out but fasten them to the truck with tethers, the truck will fly away and the driver can skip all of the weigh stations. :D

The hovering helicopter is simple to figure out. From the back seat throw a small ball in the air in a moving car and while it's airborne slam on the brakes. Where will the ball go? In the front seat, duh.

That one is pretty easy.
