Alarm on 225 Optimax 2cycle oil reservoir under cowl

Alarm comes across the smart gauge, inner reservoir is not filling from two stroke main oil tank tank is at 2.5 gallons. I kind of under stand the tank is pressurerized from crankcase ventalation and forces oil into reservoir. Have refilled the small tank and leave plug loose while running but does not seem to vent. ? And continues to not fill. Plugged line? Or something else. Any experience with this from anybody out there? 2005 optimax saltwater series motor.

With the cap loose on the engine mounted tank, engine running, it should fill and overflow. So it sounds like the pressure line to the remote oil tank is leaking or the check valve is bad.

Thanks for the info did not know there was a check valve, I am thinking that it is located on the fill line to the engine mounted tank. Will check that out and clean and check lines and clean and replace oil in the remote tank. Thanks for your reply Chris. I will post my results or findings as soon as I get this completed, Work is getting in the way of life right now. Ha ha so may be a few days..
