We have a 2008 Bass Tracker 175 TXW with a 50 hp When the key is turned on there is an beeping alarm coming from under the dash. The alarm is a Floyd Bell M-80 if that makes any difference. Oil level has been checked. Was wondering if anyone has a manual to say what conditions can cause this alarm to sound?
Thanks in advance from a new guy

Welcome aboard.

What "50 hp"?

Does the alarm go off when the motor is started?

59 hp Merc. Yes it is on when the engine is on and off. If the key is in the on position the alarm is on.

Moved into the Merc section because the motor makes alarms beep. A motor serial number will help.

Motor alarms are either in the remote control or under the dash.

have you read the owners manual for the motor?

I would look at a low oil level alarm or a overheat sensor. This is where the service/owners manual is handy.

Hi
on most modern merc engines of both outboard and inboard, the alarm will sound when ignition is turned on. It should then go off after a few seconds. Does yours stay beeping ?

If it's beeping continuously it could be Possible faulty engine over heat sensor, or low level oil sensor located in the bottom of the oil tank.
Your shop manual part number is 8M0110565
