Alarm Question? 130 Evinrude

I ran yesterday and it ran fine....but the pee hole didn't have a really srong stream of water coming out while at idle. When I got it up to about 4500 rpm it seemed better, but not a really stong streaming flow....<br /><br />Now Today it didn't start peeing at all and Alarm was a steady beep... waited a while and touched lower unit and didn't really feel real hot. Went to re-start and Alarm was going off and it started but still no water through pee hole...No Tell-Tale... What might be my problem before I take it in? <br /><br />Thanks

Hey neighbor.Sounds like you have a waterpump going out.Might just as well install new T/stats as well as having a complete new waterpump kit installed.

Thanks, for advice neigbor. What do you figure that will run me for that motor. 95' 130 HP Evinrude<br /><br />I am still learning at boating.....<br /><br />thanks again

Tx...the lower unit ain't what ya' wanna check. Feel the flat spots on top and just forward of the heads. If ya' can't lay yer fingers there for a few seconds, do what ob advises.....replace the pump impeller and t-stats.

Right at $100 for parts(waterpump kit,and t/stat assys.)$60 per hour for labor and estimated 2 hr.I do all of my own maintenance but my brother-in-law uses Gunderland.Says they treat him real fair.
