alarm sounding 50 hp merc

over heat alarm sounds-- checked water temp seams fine, even pulled thermostat, changed sending module, was fine till i started to slow idle for about 30 minutes and it started sounding again. disconnected it went full throttle and plugged it back in and it no longer sounded. very confused

Are you sure it's the over heat alarm or the sending unit from the oil injection system, if you have that?

it is a constant beeeeeep which the book says is cooling
