ALARM STAYS ON - WONT START!!

Hi all - I have a 92 Yammy 115 V4. I had it serviced on a Friday - new impellor and water pump kit including insert and face plate. Thermostats pulled out. New spark plugs etc. I then took it out. Before the service it developed a problem with the alarm going off over 5000rpm - when that occurred it would bring back to idle by cutting cylinders it seems and after about 15 seconds I could turn it off and re-start it with no alarm. Now however when it went off (after runing beautifully for about 15mins at 3000 rpm - rough chop) and cut the revs I turned it off and it would not fire and the alarm stays on when cranking. I am stumped. I took it home and waited a day and it has not changed - wondering if it is a buggered sensor staying on - but why will it not let me start? Any help would be appreciated.

You can test the sensors one at a time by disconeccting either lead. Time to pull the plugs and examine as well as a compression test.
