I have a 1984 evinrude 90hp vro. I just put the motor on a hull, and I dont know much about the alarm. Does the motor itself have have the alarm box on it? I see the temp sensors going to the cylinders. What do I have to do to get an alarm working on it?

Re: alarm

Tour 84' model does not have the fuel restriction constant alarm feature, rather three. A constant for overheat, rapid short tones for no oil flow from the vro, and a beep about every 20 secs for low oil in the reservoir.

For testing the alarm is there a small slot under the fast idle lever for a key or similar metal tool to be inserted while key is in the 'on' position? If so, this should complete the horn circuit for an audible test. If not, ground out the TAN coloured wire, your alarm should sound. The horn is located in the remote control.
