My brother gave me a boat over the winter that I'm determined to eventually captain.
I have no idea what the make / model of it is... I think its 16 or 18 ft, fiberglass body and came w/ a 1960 something 50hp merc.
I have it gutted as far as I dare.. I'm down to stringers that have fiberglass over them but the wood itself is rotten underneath.. I am just wondering how I should go about removing the rot. This is my first attempt at repairing a boat and I am worried about breaking through the actual bottom and creating a big hole water could get in...
Any advice on next steps would be greatly appreciated!
