Is it an Orego stove with the canister under the burner? Does it have the wheel that closes the sliding flap under the burner? I clean mine up with a spray of Easy Off and a little OO steel wool when it gets sticky. Get the top loose so you can get under it, but be careful not to spray the circuit board for the electric control! Should be fine.
