I just put a new motor in my boat, got my alignment tool yesterday. Trying to align the motor, and having a very difficult time. It looks like the problem is the rear of the engine is too high. On my Omc rear engine mounts, it seems that there is no adjustment. Has anyone ever ran into this problem? It looks like the motor is off to the left as well. I guess I will have to loosen all the mounts, but I just dont see any way to adjust the rear mounts. Ive gone thru the entire range of motion on the front mounts, but its not helping a bit.. Help anyone??

Re: Alignment question

There is no adjustment on the rear mounts, but they flywheel cover mounts have to fit down over the square portion of the mounts, and those big washers have to be in place under the nylock nuts.

Re: Alignment question

Did you replace the gimbal bearing? The bearing can shift inside it's retainer ring making alignment difficult. You can use the alignment tool to correct the position of the bearing by bumping it from side to side.
