lmao at you guys. its like hearing people talk of living on mars, with the kind of boats you have to have out there. i take my ole 12' tinnie up the river here, but heck, if the whole thing turns into a wad of aluminum foil, i can wade back to shore with my can of trout bait/corn ;) besides, i might get more food than a 9" trout outta that 8oz green giant brand whole kernel corn.

i bet if someone took you out in the middle of a big lake down/over here, you couldn't sleep a wink, from jumping up looking for the nearest rock and bank. :p

I have to step into this one. I have to defend Lund name, they manufacture one of the best aluminum fishing boat available. Due to my business I have to visit local mfg, and I can say they are built very well. We use them on rivers and lakes taking serious pounding, including the famous Lake Superior which storm chops can sink a freighter (and did many). They are well known for their dryness and ride in tough waters, very expensive boat, they have 2 plants in MN and Canada, they also build some utility boats that many uses to transport goods also. If you try one of their Tyee or Baron Magnums, you'll never go back (except for price tag)
Sorry guys, I had to defend our MN "institution", Lund boats are very, very good boats.

.....and, of course, I do own one and had many :D

Shoot,'taint nothin' I still see a foot of water under him. :)

ebb, that picture turned into reality scares my wife every weekend and it scares me about once a month.
My boat will run (full power)in inches of water (skinnywater). I'll be watching the Pinpoint's screen 2'...1.8'....1.0'....>1.0'....the screen blacks out...I hear a popping under the hull every 20 ft or so. Very bad time to cut power!
Back home a little 600 grit sandpaper to knock down the rough edges and your ready for next weekend. Every month or so I have to take a file to my jetpumps impeller to sharpen it up from gravel dings.
It's not that I absolutely have to have my river jet. It's just that I like to take my sweet little bride on these little "safaris" waaaaaaay up waters less traveled. ;)

NorthRiver jetboats, "Welded adrenaline"
