There is an Allison XST 18 that's up for sale it is 1979 model and appears to be a tri-hull boat. I know allison boats are known for speed but what about the ride. I've owned tri-hulls before and the ride is rough and wet in water with a good chop. Does the allison have about the same ride in choppy water? The reason the boat has caught my eye is due to the narrow beam. I have a narrow driveway with a retaining wall on each side, so I'm limited on the width of the trailer.

Here is the link, there are 4 pics, Atlanta Craigslist, 12/13/2010.

I'm guessing a tri hull is a tri-hull no matter who makes it. But it is still a sharp looking boat.

And looking at Allison's web page it may have a running pad on the hull which most boats didn't have back then. Hull weight list a bit over 700 lbs which is very light for an 18 foot boat.

There's certainly $800 worth of stuff there. Could be a real cool project.

I'd bet your right with "a tri hull is a tri hull"...you'd get some money back when your gold fillings fall though.

That is quite a bit for $800.

If it has a pad it should run faster on nice water but yeah if it kicks up it will be brutal coming off a pad onto a tri.

Looks like a great project though, everything is there!
