Do alluminum trailers corrode to the point they are not usable? Is the deteriation the same as a rusting trailer? How does that work, I see the white powder on the trailer that everyone talks about but does that mean the trailer is going bad?

Thanks

Re: Alluminum Trailer Corrosion

Aluminum typically oxidises (the white stuff). The layer of xidisation then stops further oxidisation/corrosion.

So, it is normal, but you shold keep an eye on it and watch for changes over time.

Rinse off any salt.

So leave the oxidation? Don't polish etc its a good thing?

IT's a good thing. Leave it alone. The problem with aluminum is that is stress fractures without any warning.
