almost a hole

I have a small puncture (1" round maybe) in my fiberglass bass boat. It doesn't appear to have gone all the way through but it is close. There are some cracks spreading around the center and I can't get to the spot from the inside. Is marine tex suitable for this or do I need a more substantial fix?

Marine Tex is pretty tough. Putting some in the hole is better than doing nothing, but I'd keep an eye on it to make sure it isn't spreading. A small piece of fiberglass cloth cut to fit the hole and filled with epoxy is probably the best solution.
