Compression good all around (105-115). Replaced fuel tank with new and a new fuel filter, disabled VRO per some of the kind folks advice, fresh pre-mix (50:1) fuel and gave it a crank. After 24 months sitting, it started, remained idle for 15 seconds, then cutoff. Restarting was tough, cranked but wouldn't turn-over. Let it sit a while, removed plugs, cleaned and replaced, primed the bulb and gave it another shot, remained idle running for 10 seconds, then cutoff once more. Smoked like the demon itself. I was using the muffs all the time. I suspect a dirty carb or a bad fuel pump that is running off the VRO. I never cleaned or rebuilt the carbs for that matter, in the 5 years of owning this boat. Am I due? Should I also ditch the VRO for a universal fuel pump? If so, what would my p/n be?

As always, I welcome the groups help. You guys have been great...

Cheers!

Get an OEM manual. You can do the carbs yourself. Yes, you're probably due.

The pump is probably NOT the issue.

It sounds like you nailed it right. I need to order a carb kit or get one locally in the Phoenix area. A water pump kit would be a wise investment as well, since I haven't changed an impeller in 5 years. I know there are many on-line parts houses, can anyone recommend one or know if I can find these locally?

I own a 1989 110HP Johnson VRO 110TLCE

As always, Thanks a bunch...
