I take the good with the bad but today the bad got in a few licks. Started off my clock stoped and when I got up I was already 2 hours behind on the day. Thought it was 9 am and it was after 11. Next I had to go to the bank and get my property taxs paid. that smarted, then I went home and while trying to close an open window in the shop i knocked over my amp for my sound system and it hit solid on the cement floor and busted.(kenwood high buck one with graphic equalizer) After shaking this off I promptly turned around an knocked over a very large mirror . I figured that breaking a mirror really ment nothing. Tonight I came home and the wife said "Do you hear something funny"? I said no but 5 minutes later I heard the funny sound too,,,,ITS MY FRIGGIN HEAT PUMP. had to shut it down till I can get the repair man out for most likely a big buck repair and to top it off its getting down to about 14degrees here tonight. I swear every word is true.

Just look at it this way... You have a really great day coming up to balance things up.:D:D:D:D

At least your wife didn't say "Did you hear about the woman who wanted a divorce?"

Cheers,

Chris................

Go to sleep, wake up tomorrow, and start a new day. As goofy as it seems, something good may come out of all this mess.

my heat pump freezes up anytime under 32 degrees, it has a defrost cycle, that kicks in every 20 minutes, to get the ice off the coils. the defrost and steam create from the coils, make on heck of an noise. steam looks like smoke. heat pumps really are effective under 40 degrees, the heat strips kick in. my strips kick in when it is below 50 degrees outside.

Well, that sure vacuums, Fairlaneman. A bad day in relative terms.

On the other hand, there are those who would welcome your misfortune as a big step up from their normal day.

So, the taxes are paid on your property, you get to buy a new amp and mirror, you will really appreciate your heat pump when it is running again and life will return to the high standard we all take for granted.

Sometimes it takes a day like that to remind us how well off we really are.

Yes, the good thing about stuff is that it can be replaced.

Sorry to hear fairlane, hang in there, maybe that's getting all the bad stuff over with early in the year, and it will just get better from here. The scary part is,,, S**t happens, I have an old Kenwood reciever myself, and I'd cry if it broke also. Maybe as TD said, the heat pump is just temp. frozen up, and can be back online with some minimum maintenance. Man, I've had days like this, but not quite as bad.

Look on the bright side - 1% of the mechanical things in your household have been/need to be repaired. That means there is only another 99% to break!
