I am looking for opinions on the common aluminum prop hub systems. Mercs Flow Torque, Mich Wheel XHS, and Hustlers current version. Am I missing any others? I am looking for a hub to withstand heavy acceleration of my 350, and be somewhat soft on the dog clutch drive. Rubber hubed props on my smaller outboards have always seem to dry out over a few years and start slipping. So would like to stay with replaceble hub.
The Mich wheel prop I started the season with, started slipping last time out. The hub in that one, I believe is a solid type of plastic. The newer ones appear to have a urathane inner liner. Are they better? I have a flow torque II hub that I will be using on the next trip out, but design seems to be nearly identicle.
BTW, I do need to stay alum. I boat through a 2 mile section of 5mph zone, inhabited by many unmarked rocks and stumps.
