alpha 1 dosn't go in to neutral

after half a day on the lake tubing ,skiing it takes a while to find neutral, is this common after it gets warm .

No, it's not common.
Could be the lower shift cable, might also want to check the gear lube.

thanks don i will check that I had the drive unit re sealed this last spring it was stored for 10 years (project boat) its a 79 wellcraft with a 470 mercruser so I will keep my tools handy.
