I pulled my lower unit to replace impeller. In the process I tore the Lower oil seal in the upper Drive Shaft housing. Has anyone ever pulled and replaced the seal from below. I have the seal and plan on doing this Tomorrow afternoon. I have a slide hammer I plan to tap away at the seal to remove it. Any advise\help would be greatly appreciated.

Take the upper off and do it right, every time. Easy to re-tear the upper seal trying to install a lower on an installed upper.

If you're talking about the seal that the driveshaft goes into in the upper, then yes. That is the only way to replace it is from below. You simply pry out the old seal and tap in the new one. No problem.

Remove the drive shaft housing (Stern drive upper) from the bell housing. Invert the upper and flick what remains of the seal out with a screwdriver. Access is through the exhaust cavity.
