Alpha 1 Gen 1 trim pump rebuild service or kit?

The trim/tilt pump for my Mercury alpha I Gen I I/O on my '87 Sea Ray works fine, but sounds like an angry blender making a margarita. I found the reservoir over full with burned ATF, so I did a flush and fill with the recommended 10w-30, but it still sounds the same. Its the Oildyne pump with the metal reservoir, and it doesn't leak down or seem to give any real problems, but it does sound pretty awful. I know that I can get a new SEI Marine pump for about $300, so may not be worth trying to have mine worked on, but are there any options for either a rebuild kit or a rebuild service that I can send it out to? Chances are its going to be more cost effective just to get the new one, but thought I would see what options might be. Thanks.

That was kind of my thought as well Bondo. I will at least run it for the next couple of months until the season is over. Then this fall I will pull it out and if you still want to take a shot at it Bt Doctur then I can get it headed your way to work on at your leisure. Thanks!

+1,, Im with Bondo.. for what it's worth I installed a new pump, reseviour, the works last Aug when my trim pump finally crapped out...(these things never crap out in your driveway do they? :) ) the new one is louder than the old one by a lot.. I've got 30wt oil in there which is spec... if what you have works... if it's not broke, dont break it

It certainly is the less expensive option! And lord knows there are plenty of things to spend money on with this boat.
