Alpha 1 Gen 2 Faceplate seal ? How does it look installed?

I am replacing the water pump impeller. I need to put the faceplate seal back in and do not have the installation tool. I have read and watched multiple videos etc on how to do this, ( my mechanical skills are well above average) and think I may be able to accomplish this. However I can't find a pic or video of how the seal should look when installed. I presume the seal doesn't just rest on the face plate, but the skirt actual goes through the plate and it is installed like a grommet. it was like a grommet when I took the pump cover off with it still on, and I figured that was how it went on, unless it went through the hole when I lifted the cover up. I can't find a seal/installer kit locally and will have to order it, and because I have company coming in the next few days I would like to get the boat going sooner rather than later. If I can't get the seal in,I will order a kit, but still would like to know what it looks like installed.
Thanks

Nope, seal just sits on top of the impeller housing.

Here's a picture of the tool... As your mech skills are 'well above average', then this shouldn't be any problem. ;)

Thanks - I've been building, disassembling and reassembling cars for the past 50 years, so I've come to realize that nothing is impossible and alternatives for most specialized tools can be "invented" I was going to cut the vanes off the old impeller and use the hub to push the seal down square - now I just have to rig up a a .33 inch spacer around the seal. The seal skirt looked like it went into the the cover, but I was scratching my head cause I couldn't figure out how that tool could get it in there, plus it looked like if it went through there, it would probably tear or the impeller hub would probably rub it off.

That ring is just a slinger to keep water from blasting the top of the pump housing shaft hole. It could be pushed down onto a pair feeler gauge and do just as well. It just doesn't need to be squashed down tight.
