alpha 1 gen 2 gear oil ?

i am new to the boating world but have been a mechanic for a while i just wanted to make sure it would be safe to use synthetic royal purple 75w-90 gear oil in the lower outdrive unit? also the engine is a 4.3 mercruiser would it be alright to use a standard pf47 ac delco oil filter. all help is greatly appreciated.

Oil Opinions run alittle High here sometimes,.........

Rather than tell you what You should run in your Boat,........
I'll tell ya what I run in Mine,.......

That would be Mobil 1, 15W-50 in My old 4.3LX,........With NAPA Gold oil filters.....
And,......
Either Mobil 1, or Penzoil Syn(whichever is on the shelf when I get there), 75W-90 in My Alpha 1 outdrive.........
The Trim,+ P/S get either ATF, or Hyd.Oil,.... Whichever is Handier..........

thank you that helps me make my decision. i am also running mobil 1 15w-50 and it is a good reassurance to know that someone else is running similar products without any problems. once again thank you
