After installing the new yoke, ujoint, and oil seal-While torquing the nut, the shaft wouldn't move before I got to 80 ft/lbs. I'm using used bearings. The bearing pack has the spacer. During dis assembly the gear/bearing assembly slid off, didn't have to press off. What's the damage? Any ideas? I've since removed the nut and dis assembled the assembly.

Do you have a manual?

Yes #14. Of course it didn't say anything about the 80 ft/lbs. I read about the 80 ft/lbs on a thread somewhere. So, I guess I need to separate the bearings?

Try adjusting it by the book, not something you happen to read on some unknown thread. Probably a completely different drive.

Yeah. Lesson learned. Can I use the press to separate the bearings and start all over?
