Alpha 1 Gen 2 Outboard water hose

So my dealer has the parts I want to refurbish my sterndrive, but the piece of hose which carries cooling water from the bellhousing to the transom is out of stock.

Is there anything special about that hose, or can I just get a piece of automotive heater hose cut to the correct length and use that? I want to get the job done before the cold weather comes and makes the job more difficult due to cold and rubber becoming even more inflexible.

The hose is double wall designed not to kink, heater hose is single wall and will kink.

Yes, purchase a Merc. hose. It is formed to just (barely) fit under the bell hsg. Merc. has a lot of stuff packed into that small space with little room for anything else.

just order 30-803099T1 it's got all the parts you need gimbal bearing all the bellows the gasket and that hose all in one box
