This is the first time that I have attempted the U-Joint Bellows installation, and I have a few questions:

NOTE: I have already glued and clamped the u-joint bellows to the transom.

1. On the bell housing side what all gets glued? Bellows, ring, and gasket?

2. My u-joint bellows lip fits into the track inside the bell housing; however, I need to know how far do I press the bellows ring in? Does the lip of the ring reside in the same track as the u-joint bellows lip?

Thank you in advance.

The U-joint bellows does not get adhesive at the bell housing - only at the transom. There is a groove/lip on the bellows and the ring holds the bellows in place. Spray some Quicksilver Power Tune on the ring and the bellows and you can start the ring by hand and use the special tool to seat. That is a slick design in my opinion - waaaay better than the Gen 1/pre-Alpha designs.

If you're also replacing the exhaust bellows, that gets glued at both ends.

Thank you both for the quick responses. I understand that I do not need any glue on the bell housing side; however, I'm still confused as to how far in I should drive the aluminum ring? I don't want to drive it in so far as to knock the bellows from its seal in the bell housing.

The stainless steel ring will bottom out. It will get to a point where you can't push it any further. That's where you stop.

Thank you Chris. Initially I thought it would reside in the same groove as the bellows lip. I appreciate everyone's feedback and help.
