I hear a knocking toward the back of the boat by the outdrive, I think its the u-joint. Where can you get one cheap? Or if the yolks are ok, I may just go with the cross & bearing. I read you may be able to even use just a automotive u-joint assembly for this or napa carries the c & b? What does everyone else do for this?

Outdrive Serial: 0M419299
Outdrive Ratio: 1.81R

$20 on eBay, however, what horsepower are you running? And what year? There are two different part numbers one for 260 and less HP and one for 260+HP. I use to replace mine 1's with automotive u-joints back in the day, only expect a season out of them if your boating in salt water. I only had problems with one, but that's life when you hit a submerged 1950's refrigerator. Oh yeah forgot to tell you, you will need two of them, don't replace just one, that is a big no-no.

It's a 4.3l Mercruiser 2002. I saw that post already, I guess I was just looking to see what other people usually do. Do they cough up the $90 for new u-joints, buy used on ebay or use some cheaper u-joints off amazon or local autoparts store?

This was in a recent post on cross reference for gen 2 u joints Hey guys found them there Precision 344 or Spicer 5-3214x 1.063 inch cup diameter and 2.94 length

When I did them on my old boat with a gen one I bought them from summit racing for $10

What's the model number for the spicers? Nothing comes up for Spicer 5-3214, and have they been holding up for you well?
