Alpha 1 Gen2 gasket between stern drive and bell housing

Helping someone with bellows job. While having a difficult time getting the drive back in, some oil dripped onto the gasket. We wiped it clean with lacquer thinner. Do you think we should get a new gasket? How critical is that gasket?

some oil will leak when installing the drive from the connector valve. nothing to worry about.
