Alpha 1 gimble bearing replacement

I know that there are links to gimble replacement, but does anyone know if the gimble bearing will come out with just the outdrive pulled off, I just bought a boat and the bellows were replaced last year, but not the gimble bearing, I am replacing the engine due to cracked block, I already have the engine out and the outdrive off, just thought I would change bearing now while I have it apart I have an extra bearing I bought for my last boat and never used, but maybe not if have to pull all apart including all the bellows.

If the engines out and the drives off just use a drift and hammer from inside the boat and drive it out. During normal maintenance a slider hammer with 2 or 3 jaws from outside is the normal method. Only need to remove the drive.

What year is your Alpha I ??????

It is a first gen alpha one, 1989 model

I can't find the bearing I bought so I will get new one and see if it fits through
gimble ring.
