so have you solved the original problem with the shift shaft rotation??
as stated in previous posts, standing at the front of the drive looking aft - the shift shaft should rotate clockwise no more than the 6 o'clock position and counterclockwise to the 4 o'clock position
its holds true for standard and counter rotation alpha drives - the forward and reverse positions are opposite for standard/counter rotation drives
with the drive completely assembled, you should be able to turn the splined u-joint shaft clockwise while manually shifting the drive at the shift shaft and see the propshaft turn accordingly - use a rag on the splines and some muscle, it should turn
if it doesn't turn, there is an issue with the internal components
