hey guys i've been havin truble shifting into reverse, after adjusting my shift cables as discribed in the manuel my problem actually got worse and it would not go forward. so i pulled my gear unit and found the shift shaft had way to much play in it, also it apears to be sitting way to low. I'm considering taking the job on myself and it looks doable in the manuel. anybody here done this befor? is it difficult? is there anything else i should replace while i'm inthere? i've considerd sending it to a marina but the guys around here are booked up trough june already plus i have an 84 and the local marina cuts there service off at 89.
